On the morning of May 19, Zhou Jin, Member of the Standing Committee of the University Party Committee and Secretary of the University Commission for Discipline Inspection, visited the School of Management with a delegation to inspect its work and provide guidance. The delegation included Li Guobao, Director of the General Office of the University Commission for Discipline Inspection and the Office of the Supervisory Commissioner. Members of the School’s leadership team and assistants to the dean attended the meeting.

After listening attentively to the School’s report, Zhou fully recognized its achievements in Party building, talent cultivation, teaching and research, and social services. Taking the School’s circumstances into consideration, he set out four expectations for its future work.

First, the School should further strengthen the guiding role of Party building. It should build on its solid foundation in this area and use its two national-level “Model Party Branches” as benchmarks to drive comprehensive improvement across all Party branches. The School should strictly implement the responsibility system for improving Party conduct and upholding integrity. By further developing its integrity culture initiative, it should continuously enhance its institutional culture, professional ethics among faculty, and academic culture among students.

Second, the School should further strengthen faculty and talent development. It should gradually address gaps in its high-level talent pool by recruiting external expertise and cultivating key personnel internally. It should also develop a strong pipeline of administrative leaders and select faculty members with firm political commitment and outstanding professional competence for experience in key positions, thereby ensuring continuity in the School’s development.

Third, the School should strengthen the cultivation of high-quality teaching and research outcomes. In light of its actual circumstances, it should formulate long-term plans and short-term objectives and adopt targeted measures to address areas of weakness. Members of the School’s leadership should lead by example while providing effective support, bringing together the entire School in a coordinated effort to achieve breakthroughs in high-level teaching and research outcomes.

Fourth, the School should maintain a firm focus on safety and stability. It should establish and improve a three-tier responsibility system, strengthen routine management in a thorough and meticulous manner, and act strictly in accordance with established policies and regulations. The School must safeguard the boundaries of safety in areas including ideological work, student management, and laboratory operations and make every effort to provide faculty and students with a safe, orderly, positive, and supportive environment in which to pursue their work and development.

At the meeting, Dean Yan Huafei delivered a report on behalf of the School’s leadership team, outlining the School’s general profile, development achievements, existing shortcomings, and plans for the next five years. Other members of the leadership team provided supplementary reports on their respective areas of responsibility.

The participants stated that they would carefully study the guidance provided during the visit, implement each requirement in a systematic manner, and advance the School’s high-quality development through concrete action and tangible results.
