May at the School of Management was marked not only by the turning of pages but also by the warmth of minds finding room to flourish. Drawing on its distinctive mental health education initiative, “Management with Care, A Home for All,” the School carefully planned and successfully conducted a series of activities for Mental Health Education Month 2026.

Guided by the coordinated development of moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic, and labor education, the initiative sought to “nurture the mind through moral education, enlighten it through intellectual education, strengthen it through physical education, enrich it through aesthetic education, and sustain it through labor education.” The School established an integrated mental health education framework encompassing values-based guidance, knowledge and skills, physical stress relief, artistic expression, and therapeutic labor. Through this framework, students grew through experience, benefited from participation, and found emotional restoration through practical work.

Nurturing the Mind Through Moral Education and Strengthening the Foundation of Ideals and Convictions

The School has consistently placed values-based guidance at the heart of mental health education, incorporating the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education into every aspect of students’ psychological development.

From May 7 to 25, class psychological well-being representatives organized themed class meetings tailored to the psychological characteristics and needs of students in different years. Sessions for lower-year students focused on emotional awareness, interpersonal relationships, and self-discipline, while those for upper-year students addressed stress management, resilience in the face of setbacks, and career planning.

Through case studies, interactive games, and psychodrama performances, students participated actively and shared their experiences openly. The sessions effectively strengthened their awareness of self-care and fostered a supportive class environment characterized by attention to mental well-being and mutual assistance.

On the afternoon of May 28, the School organized a themed activity on “Preventing Violence in Dating and Intimate Relationships (PUA).” Han Zhilai, Director of the Mental Health Center at Wuhan Huaxia University of Technology, combined real-life cases with psychological knowledge to help students systematically identify less visible signs of abuse in relationships, including control, threats, and belittlement, and to distinguish clearly between love and harm.

Enlightening the Mind Through Knowledge and Strengthening Psychological Self-Help

From May 7 to 14, the School held a Peer Psychological Counseling Skills Competition and specialized training for class psychological well-being representatives under the theme “Making Peace with Emotions and Easing the Burden on the Mind.”

The activities provided student mental health leaders with opportunities for practical training while systematically strengthening students’ capacity for psychological self-help and peer support. They also brought evidence-based methods of psychological adjustment into students’ everyday lives.

Strengthening the Mind Through Physical Activity and Releasing the Vitality of Youth

At noon on May 13, faculty members and students released stress through recreational competition and built collective strength through teamwork during the outdoor psychological growth and team-building activity entitled “Strengthening Resolve Through Action, Uniting the Power of Youth.”

This immersive outdoor experience not only improved students’ physical fitness but also strengthened their determination through exertion and laughter, demonstrating the positive and energetic outlook of the School community.

On the evening of May 22, the School’s second FLY CUP Faculty–Student Badminton Tournament began amid great enthusiasm. As an important component of the School’s professional approach to mental health education, the event used sport as a medium through which faculty members and students could release stress and regulate their emotions while playing and working together.

Luo Qiong, Deputy Secretary of the School’s Party Committee, stated that sporting activities are an effective means of bringing faculty and students closer and encouraging meaningful personal communication. On the court, faculty members and students competed alongside one another and cooperated with mutual understanding, strengthening their emotional bonds through exertion and shared enjoyment.

Enriching the Mind Through Aesthetic Education and Expanding Pathways for Art-Based Well-Being

From May 7 to 22, the School drew on the restorative power of artistic expression to organize the “Lighting Up the Stars, Moving Forward with Love” campus postcard activity and a mental health art competition.

Within the limited space of a postcard or canvas, students expressed their feelings through writing and portrayed their inner worlds in vibrant colors. By thoughtfully combining aesthetic and mental health education, the activities brought artistic expression and psychological growth into harmony and introduced a gentle yet powerful artistic dimension to the School’s mental health education.

Sustaining the Mind Through Labor and Appreciating the Beauty of Creation

On the afternoon of May 21, the School introduced an innovative form of labor education through the psychological and practical activity “Grain Art for the Mind, Healing Through the Fingertips,” a highlight of its “Management with Care, A Home for All” initiative.

Students transformed grains and cereals into materials for artistic creation. Through patient arrangement, collage-making, and hands-on practice, they experienced concentration and tranquility while developing a deeper appreciation of the beauty of creation through labor and the resilience inherent in personal growth. The activity enabled labor education and mental health education to reinforce one another.

The Mental Health Education Month activities provided students with a broad platform on which to release stress and express themselves. More importantly, they successfully established a new mental health education environment characterized by the integration of all five dimensions of education and the participation of the entire School community.

Amid the lively atmosphere of the “5·25 Sunshine Mental Health Carnival,” the principles of mental health education became meaningfully integrated into students’ everyday lives.

Going forward, the School of Management will continue to strengthen its “Management with Care, A Home for All” initiative and explore new pathways toward high-quality mental health education. Through these efforts, it will support the cultivation of future contributors to and successors of the socialist cause who are well developed morally, intellectually, physically, aesthetically, and in their capacity for practical work.
