The Hubei Provincial Selection of the 16th National College Student E-Commerce “Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship” Challenge was held in Enshi from May 23 to 24. The School of Management at Wuhan Institute of Technology fielded seven teams in the competition.
The School attached great importance to the organization of the competition, project development, and support for participating teams, providing extensive assistance throughout the process. Faculty members Liu Laixing and Zhou Ruyi accompanied the teams to the competition and provided comprehensive guidance on project presentations, on-site defenses, and post-competition reviews.
Following selection in the University-level competition, intensive pre-competition refinement, and keen competition at the provincial level, the School’s teams received one Provincial Grand Prize, two Provincial First Prizes, and five Provincial Second Prizes.
Themed “Driving E-Commerce Development Through Innovation, Illuminating the Dreams of Youth Through Creativity, and Empowering the Journey of the New Era Through Entrepreneurship,” the Hubei Provincial Selection was hosted by the Organizing Committee of the National College Student E-Commerce “Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship” Challenge and jointly organized by Hubei University of Economics and Enshi Polytechnic.
Teams from universities across Hubei Province presented their projects and exchanged ideas in such fields as the digital economy, e-commerce innovation, rural revitalization, integrated cultural and tourism development, cross-border trade, and smart services.
During the competition, the School’s teams presented projects including “Art in Bloom Through Pyrography,” “Herbal Mugwort Innovation,” and the “WIT Business Innovation Engine.” Drawing on genuine needs and their respective disciplinary strengths, the teams introduced their projects from the perspectives of user needs and challenges, products and services, operational models, marketing, social value, and development plans. Their strong performances in the closely contested competition produced excellent results.

Going forward, the School will continue to use disciplinary competitions as an important means of cultivating talent and will establish broader platforms for innovation and entrepreneurship practice. It will encourage more students to transform their professional knowledge into the ability to solve real-world problems and contribute their youthful energy to the development of the digital economy and the upgrading of regional industries.
